Ok first of all I love the name of this food truck. It’s very clever. “Which food truck did you get lunch from?” “The Yummy One!” See? Brilliant.

The Yummy One serves Korean food in many different options like rice bowls, burritos, and rice wraps. You will see curry everywhere on that menu. I’ve only recently started to like curry after avoiding it for many years. However I admit I was a little nervous that the Korean curry would be too spicy for me. One of the staff was kind enough to give me a small sample of curry and rice. It was sweet and spicy at the same time, but not spicy enough to fog up my sunglasses. So I went for it.

So I ordered the Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef) bowl, with some refreshing sweet peach iced tea. The bowl included a very generous portion of meat, rice, and of course, a dousing of curry. A small portion of potatoes, peas, and carrots were mixed in. It reminded me of beef stew with the tender meat, potatoes, and rice. The curry did add a nice twist. I was glad they served it with enough rice to counter the spiciness of the curry. I’d like to try the burrito when I’m a bit more hungry one day. I’m glad I ordered it to go because the portion was large enough to save for later.

So if you see The Yummy One in your area, give it a try. Especially if you’d like to try a new cuisine.
