Follow That Food Truck: Slap Fish Truck

I recently went to the South Bay Food Fest. That being said,I have enough food truck material to last me to the end of the year. Pretty cool. When I ran the Food Fest ticket giveaway, I asked people to name their favorite truck. The one with the most votes was the Slap Fish Truck. So I knew I had to try it out.

The main draw to The Slap Fish Truck is its use of sustainable seafood. I think we all can appreciate this ocean friendly approach. I’m glad I got there when the festival started. I didn’t have to wait long at all.

Since I was going to sample multiple trucks, I didn’t want to ruin my appetite, or hurt my wallet too much. So I went with their “Because we have to” Fish Taco. Flaky, fresh and slightly spicy fish sat beneath a mixture of creamy salsa verde that added another nice punch, sweet tomatoes, and crunchy shaved cabbage. This taco right here proved to me that yes, even food trucks can come up with a fresh and healthy dish. I can’t stress enough how fresh the fish was. It really surprised me! It was just enough to tie me over until my next food truck sample.

So if that Slap Fish truck comes to your neighborhood, be sure to give it a try.

Have you tried the Slap Fish truck? What are your favorite food trucks?

I’m really glad this was the first food truck of the day for me. It was very fresh & tasty.

    2. I’ve never heard of a “Food Truck” before. That’s innovative – must be the high prices of renting a place that has forced people to set up restaurant-type cooking in a truck. Your blog is interesting.
