We found this place tucked in the same strip mall that Christine’s is, close to the PV border. I was glad to find another bakery close by. Sadly, when we arrived, there wasn’t much of a selection of baked goods left. However we got over that quickly and looked at the menu.
The menu had a lot of comfort food, what you’d expect from a cozy mom & pop cafe. If only the staff was as welcoming as the menu. Maybe it was a long day, maybe their shifts were almost over but they didn’t seem happy to be there at all.
The chicken cobb sandwich was a creative idea. All the goodness of the salad between two pieces of bread. For the most part it worked with the exception of the chicken that was a bit on the dry side. The pickle and fries were decent though. I don’t care for coleslaw so it just remained on my plate as a garnish.
I sincerely hope this was a mere case of wrong meal, wrong time since they’ve gotten good reviews on their breakfasts and bakery. I’ll have to get up early one morning and check it out for myself.

Beh. I can’t stand dry chicken. That, and overcooked yolks are my food peeves. I usually stay away from ordering chicken in a restaurant. But the concept was creative and interesting…I might try that at home!
Yeah dry chicken is a deal breaker for me. You’re right, I think a homemade version would be good.
At Misto’s, I have not had a lot of their food but I have eaten their Tomato Bisque about 10 times or so. With a dollop of basil and large crouton. I usually get that and a small salad.
That does sound pretty good.
