If you recall, Julie & Julia was in theaters this time last year. My viewing of that particular movie, combined with an episode of a bake off on Food Network inspired me to write a food blog. No, I didn’t want to be famous like Julie nor did I want to win thousands of dollars for my baked goods. Rather, I needed an outlet to express myself. At the time, the only sort of reviews I had done were on Yelp! Like most reviews seen on that site, mine were just as brief, only a few sentences, and of course, no pictures. I had a long way to go & didn’t know where to begin!
I was very naive & thought I was the only food blogger out there, I was wrong to my surprise. Writing this blog has opened another world to me. It has allowed me to meet other people who share the same passion as me whether it be across town or across the country. It’s been fun getting exposed to other people’s cultures & ideas. More importantly, I’ve loved meeting other foodies out there & learning to get out of my comfort zone which is what this blog is all about.
When I started, I was only expecting a few hits a day & now while not the most popular site on the internet, I’m very thankful with how readership has grown & I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for my site. A year ago I would have never expected to go to all these foodie events including LudoBites, OC Cupcake Camp or the Grilled Cheese festival nor would I have thought I’d have a few advertisers or PR people interested in me & what I have to offer.
Thank you one & all for supporting this blog! I wonder what I’ll write on the two year mark!
