Well, Thanksgiving is drawing near and like many of you, I’m going to take it easy this week. I’m celebrating the holiday in north Florida. This easy vibe of the week and country feel of the environment I’m in brings my recipe of easy turkey chili to mind. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
2 cups diced onion
1 14oz can chopped tomatoes
1 14oz can chili beans
1 6oz can tomato paste
2 TBSP chili powder
2 tsp cumin
1 1/4 cup water
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 bay leaf
1 tsp oregano
In a medium skillet, saute the meat & onion over medium heat until no longer pink. Add all the ingredients except for the beans.Mix well. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add the beans and simmer for 15 more minutes.
Serve immediately
